JUNY
HELP started preparation for implementation of project „Poverty reduction through support to small business development in BiH“. The Project is financed by the German Foreign Ministry through the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.
HELP representatives visited Municipalities interested in participation and discussed possible cooperation.
MAY
HELP staff finalized the project documentation and analyzed rezults of the project implementation.
APRIL
Beneficiaries from Municipalities of Konjic, Kiseljak, Rogatica and Čajniče fulfilled their community work obligation by participating in actions of cleaninig public spaces. These actions were organized by the Municipalities. HELP monitors were on the field monitoring the client's progress.

MARCH
HELP’s beneficiaries from Novo Gorazde Municipality started fulfilling their community work obligation. Municipality of Novo Gorazde launched the spring eco-action named “Clean environment – Healty life” which will last from 20th of March to 15th of May 2010. Beneficiaries and municipal authorities previously held a meeting to discuss suggestions and ideas for the action and agree on the work dynamics.
HELP monitors are still on the field monitoring progress and providing advice support where needed.
FEBRUARY
Two remaining business trainings in Rogatica and Cajnice municipalities were held on 9th of FEB 2010. Understanding and leading the businesses were the subjects trainer focused on. Beneficiaries also shared their experience with each other and the trainer. During February, HELP monitors were on the field monitoring the progress and giving support where needed.



JANUARY
On 26th and 28th of January 2010 HELP BH in cooperation with the International Center for Professional Education (ICPE) held two business trainings for their clients in Konjic and Kiseljak municipalities. Municipal representatives participated in Konjic business training, explaining the business registration process and answering the questions from the clients concerning the subject. Beneficiaries also used the opportunity to share their experience and observations on obstacles they meet in planning, registration and leading their businesses.

DECEMBER
In cooperation with the International Center for Professional Education (ICPE), HELP started implementation of the basic business trainings for the beneficiaries on the 24th of December 2009. First training was conducted in Novo Goražde Municipality, and the trainer was Assistant Professor Elvir Čizmić, from the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo.
The trainings will continue in the time to come, and beneficiaries will be notified accordingly on the time frame of the trainings in their municipalities.

OCTOBER
In October, HELP will be delivering the articles (articles/equipment/cattle) to the beneficiaries in project Municipalities.
SEPTEMBER
Contracts signing were organized for the beneficiaries who did not sign their contracts so far. Other beneficiaries have started fulfilling their obligations defined in the contracts through co-financing their business idea. After completing the procurement tender procedures for articles defined, HELP started with the deliveries for those beneficiaries who have fulfilled their part of the contract.

AUGUST
Based on the information from the HELP monitors field visits, the Commission is making the final decision on the candidates whose business ideas will be supported. The first beneficiaries’ contracts signing were organized in Konjic, Rogatica and Novo Goražde.
JULY
HELP’s employees are already field visiting potential beneficiaries short-listed for the second selection. The aim of these visits are to provide HELP’s monitors the data on the social situation of the applicant as well as to give the potential applicant the opportunity to present his business idea on the location it self.
JUNE
Great interest of the population in Municipalities included in the project resulted with a final number of 512 received applications of potential beneficiaries. HELP’s Commission screened out the received applications and short-listed potential beneficiaries that will be visited personally in the second phase of the selection process. This way, the potential beneficiaries will be able to explain more closely their business idea to HELP monitors on the site.
MAY
HELP signed cooperation contracts with Konjic, Novo Gorazde and Cajnice municipalities and started the info campaign. In the project municipalities HELP held total of 31 info presentations. First applications already started coming to HELP’s office in Sarajevo.

APRIL
HELP has started with the implementation of the project “Poverty reduction through the support to the local economic development” by signing the cooperation contract with the Kiseljak and Rogatica municipalities. The project will provide help to 140 small businesses in five municipalities. Grant value will be 1.500€ and interested applicants must be inhabitants of targeted municipalities. Successful applicants will receive in-kind grants only, no cash. Beneficiary’s obligations will be to repay 15% of the value of the donation, to register his business depending on the type of activity and to perform at least 10 hours of community service.

MARCH
HELP was working on preparation for implementation of project “Poverty reduction through the support to the local economic development”. At the same time, HELP officers contacted the previous beneficiaries and provided them advisory help in the process of development of their businesses.
FEBRUARY
„Urgent firewood help“ project successfully implemented. HELP delivered total of 223,6t of wooden briquettes, and helped 1965 households and 10 public institutions.
JANUARY
Due to the lack of natural gas crisis and severe winter, HELP started implementing the urgent firewood help project. With the cooperation of Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, this project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office as part of the German Foreign Ministry and HELP Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. In this project 220 tons of wooden briquettes will be delivered to 2000 beneficiaries and 7 local institutions in Canton Sarajevo, and municipalities Zenica, East Ilidža and Srebrenica.
2009
DECEMBER
HELP kept on monitoring and advising the beneficiaries through the business registration process.
NOVEMBER
After the delivery procedure was finalized HELP’s Grant officers started with the monitoring of the final beneficiaries. During the monitoring phase Grant officers are visiting the beneficiaries and following up the progress of the business and the proper use of the donated items.


Community work in Foča. The beneficiaries cleaned the city center park and then installed 10 wooden thrash cans, manufactured by the two craftsmen beneficiaries. Thrash cans were installed on the vital places in the city previously agreed with the local authorities.


OCTOBER
During October, HELP signed the grant contracts with all final beneficiaries.
In the mid-October, HELP started with the deliveries of the requested articles in the municipality of Foča after the beneficiaries paid their contribution.
SEPTEMBER
During this month, HELP finalized the second selection process and grant specification, and started working on tender procedures of acquiring the goods for the selected beneficiaries.AUGUST

During the second selection HELP’s Grant officers visited 107 applicants on the field.
Out of the 107 visited applicants HELP has selected 40 final beneficiaries in Foča and surrounding area, 16 different types of activities were supported.
JULY
HELP has just started the info campaign for its new project “Job creation through support to small start-up businesses in Central and Eastern BiH” – 2nd phase in Foča and its surrounding areas. In the following 5 months, 40 selected beneficiaries will receive an in-kind grant to start-up a business or upgrade it.
During the info campaign HELP held 14 presentations in Foča and surrounding areas.

JUNE
After the delivery procedure was finalized HELP’s Grant officers started with the monitoring of the final beneficiaries. During the monitoring phase Grant officers are visiting the beneficiaries and following up the progress of the business and the proper use of the donated items.
Community work in Olovo. The beneficiaries cleaned the area around the monument in the center of Olovo and around the local high school. Some beneficiaries, who are craftsmen repaired the rain pipes in the primary school or repaired the sanitary objects in the schools.

MAY
HELP started with the deliveries of the requested articles in the municipality of Olovo after the beneficiaries paid their contribution.

APRIL
First and second selection of beneficiaries in Olovo.
During the second selection HELP’s Grant officers visited 130 applicants on the field.
Out of the 130 visited applicants HELP has selected 40 final beneficiaries in Olovo and surrounding area, 13 different types of activities were supported.
During the month HELP signed the grant contracts with all final beneficiaries.
MARCH
JANUARY
Community work in Olovo. The beneficiaries cleaned the area around the local monument in
the town’s center .

Community work in Goražde. Supporting the work of Senior Home and organizing socializing with the home beneficiaries.

December
As planed in the project “ Winter aid for 894 socially vulnerable persons in central and eastern BiH” HELP delivered in total 294 food parcels and 445 m² of firewood to the municipalities of Olovo, Vareš, Čajniče and the collective centre Hrasnica and Sokolac.
Additionaly we delivered food and hygienic articles to the Home for protection of children and youth Pazaric in the value over 10 000€.

November
The project “Job creation through the support to small start-up businesses in Central and Eastern BiH” is completed. The project covered 5 municipalities and included 170 beneficiaries. The project was completed with 83,5% legally registered new businesses.
One of very successful example is Mrs. Nikolić from Rogatica. With HELP’s grant, she started her own fitness school.

October
HELP’s grant allowed Mr. Hasanspahić to develop his mixed agricultural production. He is now able to produce and pack a larger number of different products.

In Rogatica the municipal project was funded through a separate fund in which the beneficiaries paid in their 15% contribution. The funds were invested in the refurbishment of the laboratory and mortuary in the local health center.
September 2007
The renovation / upgrading of the Eco-Tourism facilities have started. Hikers and other tourists will have proper and welcoming lodges to stay in Ruda Glava and in Kalinovik in the coming months. These mountain/hunting lodges will open the way to further tourist activities in those regions.

August 2007
All our beneficiaries have received their equipment/ material. HELP's Grant Officers will be providing them with advice and assistance for the coming months.

The community work for the beneficiaries has started. In Vares, our beneficiaries have helped to clean the river's bank, offering the community a clean recreational place to go.
